In the past, motorcycle batteries were regularly manually discharged and recharged. Meanwhile, high roller hoverboard this puts more strain on modern batteries than it is helpful. Only with a motorcycle battery with low discharge this still makes sense. Instead, consider getting a charger that regulates the power supply on its own.
Hint: Only use a special motorcycle battery charger. Here you can make a setting for many small charging currents and thus protect the battery from overcharging.

How long does a motorcycle battery take to charge?
If you need to charge your motorcycle battery, you can use an electronic motorcycle battery charger. This will show you as soon as the battery is fully charged. The duration also depends on the type of battery: acid batteries take around 5-10 hours, and modern lithium batteries a maximum of 60 minutes. Prevent damage during deep discharge by storing your motorcycle battery at temperatures of 10 to 20° C.
With an increase in room temperature, the speed with which the motorcycle battery discharges deeply increases. If stored for several months, charge the battery every 90 days at the latest. Otherwise, the motorcycle battery will be empty without you wanting it. For storage over the winter, a so-called trickle charger is worthwhile. This permanently charges the battery with a very low current. However, it is also very expensive due to the complicated electronics.
Hint: Without an electronic charger, calculate the charging time in hours as follows: Divide the capacity of the battery (mAh) by the charging current (mA). Due to the heat loss during charging, multiply the result by 1.3.
How long does a motorcycle battery last?
The service life of a motorcycle battery cannot be specified in this way. With optimal care, motorcycle batteries can last ten years, some species are already unusable after two years. Especially for frost, the batteries are very susceptible. If you do not use your motorcycle for long months, for example during the winter, connect it to a motorcycle battery maintenance device to prevent damage from deep discharge.
Never start your motorcycle battery idle in winter if you do not move it for at least 50 km afterward. During a cold start, the resulting condensation is sucked into the engine and changes the consistency of the engine oil. Furthermore, frequent cold starts not only damage the individual components of the motorcycle, including the battery, spark plugs, and engine, but also affect the environment.
