1. Red Dead Redemption 2
Red Dead Redemption 2 is the best action-adventure game launched in 2018, was developed and published by Rockstar Games. The game is a prequel to the 2010 Red Dead Redemption and is the third installment in the Red Dead adventure series. The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One Red Dead Redemption 2 premiered in October 2018 and November 2019 on Windows and Stadia. In November 2018, Red Dead Online, the online multiplayer mode, was published as a test before officially launching in May 2019.
Red Dead Redemption 2 was the second-largest opening weekend in movie history, grossing $725 million in its first weekend and exceeding Red Dead Redemption’s lifetime sales in just two weeks.
2. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
This role-playing action game was developed and released by CD Projekt Red. It is the third installment in the Witcher series. It is based on Andrzej Sapkowski’s The Witcher series of fantasy novels. Players assume the role of Geralt of Rivia, a paid monster slayer known as a Witcher, as he searches for his adopted daughter, who is fleeing the otherworldly Wild Hunt.
3. Dishonored 2
Dishonored 2 is an action-adventure video game for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, created by Arkane Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks. Empress Emily Kaldwin is ousted by the witch Delilah Copperspoon in this sequel to 2012’s Dishonored. As they strive to recover the whole kingdom, the player can play as Emily or her Royal Protector and father, Corvo Attano. You can use non-lethal stealth or purposeful, aggressive combat to complete missions in the game. Dishonored two is set in the fictional city of Karnaca, which is based on countries in Southern Europe and the Mediterranean, such as Greece, Italy, and Spain. Its history was created in a single year, using 1851 architecture, fashion, and technology as an inspiration. The voice actors are Rosario Dawson, Sam Rockwell, Robin Lord Taylor, Jamie Hector, Pedro Pascal, and Vincent D’Onofrio. At The Game Awards 2016, the game was named Best Action/Adventure Game, and at the 2017 NAVGTR Awards, it was named Best Costume Design.
4. Doom Eternal
Doom Eternal is a Bethesda Softworks-published first-person shooter created by id Software. Doomguy is sent to stop Hell from devouring Earth and the alien Mayor from annihilating humanity. On March 20, 2020, it was published on Windows, PlayStation 4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
In 2020, Doom Eternal received five Game Award nominations, including Game of the Year and Best Action Game. The Ancient Gods, a two-part post-game DLC, was released between October 2020 and March 2021.
5. Gears 5
The sixth in the Gears of War series is Gears of War 5. It will be available for Xbox One, Microsoft Windows, and Xbox Series X/S on September 10, 2019. The game’s ultimate version was launched last year to mostly positive reviews. On September 6, 2019, the standard edition was launched internationally to positive reviews.
Along with Kait, JD, Del, and Marcus are officially restored in the COG Army. At Damon Baird’s request, they journey to Azura’s ruins to launch a Hammer of Dawn satellite. They return to New Ephyra, the capital, where Baird informs them that he can still identify the other satellites. Before discarding her mother’s Locust jewelry, Kait confirms her need to find Reyna, the Swarm’s queen. She must also pick between protecting JD and killing Del, leaving Reyna to kill one of them. Kait eventually resolves to kill Reyna herself after JD kills her in the game.
6. Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice
The video game Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is an action-adventure game. It was established in March 2019 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, and in October 2020 for Stadia. Sekiro is a shinobi who seeks vengeance on a samurai clan that attacked him and kidnapped his lord in the game. The game emphasizes stealth, exploration, and fighting, with boss bouts taking center stage.
7. Mortal Kombat 11
Mortal Kombat 11 is a ferocious game created by Warner Bros and released by them. Interactive Entertainment and developed by NetherRealm Studios. On April 23, 2019, the game was launched on Microsoft Windows, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One in North America and parts of
Europe. The series’ eleventh main installment and a follow-up to Mortal Kombat X, released in 2015. The game’s console versions received mostly positive reviews upon the release and, as per news broadcasted, with acclaim for the gameplay, story, graphics, and better net code.
Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath is scheduled to be released on May 26, 2020. Mortal Kombat: Ultimate Edition, an improved version of the game incorporating all downloadable content up to that date, was published on November 17, 2020, for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
8. Forza Horizon 4
Forza Horizon 4 is a car game set in a fictionalized version of the United Kingdom. After being unveiled at E3, it was published for Xbox One and Microsoft Windows on October 2, 2018. A new version of the game for Xbox Series X/S will be released on November 10, 2020. The game is notable for introducing the franchise to shifting seasons as well as multiple new upgrades.
The game includes a dynamic weather system that also depicts the shifting seasons. Depending on the season, the world’s ecosystem will change. Derwentwater, for example, would freeze over in the winter, allowing players to travel on the ice to parts of the game world that otherwise would be inaccessible in all other seasons.
9. Cuphead
Studio MDHR created and published Cuphead, a 2017 run-and-gun video game. The game was a critical and economic success, collecting multiple accolades and selling more than six million copies in less than three years. It was influenced by the rubber hose animation style popular in American cartoons during the golden age of animation. A Netflix animated series based on the game is in the works.
Uphead’s gameplay is built around a series of boss encounters that are alternated with run-and-gun levels. All worlds except the final one have a mausoleum, and the player must dodge spirits before touching it and taking the urn. To complete the game on regular mode, you must defeat all of the bosses, while the expert mode is unlocked once you’ve completed the game. Pork rinds Emporium, an in-game shop, sells equipable weapons and special abilities known as Charms.
10. Devil May Cry 5
Devil May Cry 5 is the sixth created game in the Devil May Cry series and the fifth mainline installment. Capcom released the game on Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on March 8, 2019. It follows a gang of demon-possessed warriors as they attempt to stop Demon King Urizen from annihilating humanity. Critics praised the range of tactics the three characters bring to the game action and adventure and the narrative’s handling.
